Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Lynn Collins
Dr. Lynn Collins (“Dr. Lynn”) graduated from University of Maryland Dental School. She worked as a general dentist for seven years with her father in Newark. Her passion for children encouraged her to specialize in pediatric dentistry at Temple University, Episcopal Campus.
She has had extensive training in orthodontics with Mid Continent Orthodontics under the auspices of Dr. Harry Green and in private practice with her late father, Dr. Ronald E. Collins.
She has taken extensive courses in airway and sleep disordered breathing. This includes laser treatment (frenectomy) of tethered oral tissues (tongue-tie and lip-tie). She has completed training in orofacial functional myology and is a TBI Ambassador with The Breathe Institute.
Dr. Lynn is on staff at Nemours Children’s Hospital. She enjoys the challenging special needs patient and enjoys her operating-room privileges so she can restore patients’ teeth under general anesthesia.
Dr. Lynn is also is on the medical-dental staff at ChristianaCare Health System. She is the Section Chief of Pediatric Dentistry and teaches the general practice dental residents in Wilmington Hospital’s dental clinic. Additionally she provides dental services under general anesthesia in the operating room at Wilmington Hospital.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Lynn’s dental services include doing braces on older children/adolescents and pediatric dentistry using “happy gas” (nitrous oxide). She truly enjoys the world of teeth and children. Dr. Lynn is proud to be a part of a large caring family that includes dentists and dental professionals.
Dr. Patricia Smith
Dr. Patricia Smith (“Dr. Patty”) received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Peter’s University, Jersey City, New Jersey. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
After finishing a general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital, Dr. Patty completed a fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She went on to complete her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital, Episcopal Campus.
Dr. Patty was on the faculty of Temple University Dental School as a part-time clinical assistant professor for one year following her residency before devoting herself full-time to private practice.
Dr. Patty is an associate community staff member of the Nemours Children’s Hospital. She is an active member of the medical and dental staff at the ChristianaCare Health System. She teaches the general practice dental residents and provides dental services under general anesthesia in the operating room at Wilmington Hospital.
Dr. Patty is expanding her knowledge by taking extensive courses in airway, pediatric sleep disorders and tethered oral tissues. She has received training in orofacial functional myology and she is a TBI Ambassador with The Breathe Institute.
Adult Dentistry
Dr. Daria Ryan
Born and raised in Delaware, Dr. Daria Ryan graduated from Saint Mark’s High School, the University of Delaware, and the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University Dental School. She also attended a hospital-based general practice residency program in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Ryan is a former faculty member and attending dentist at Delaware Technical and Community College, Department of Dental Hygiene. She has worked for more than 20 years in New Castle County in private practice.
Dr. Ryan is proud to be part of a large, caring family that includes dental specialists, dentists, and dental hygienists. She is married with two grown children.
